Background and Training of FTP Staff Members

FTP works in teams of two and meets with the family in their home. Staff members gather relevant information about family dynamics and history while emphasizing family strengths, addressing any safety concerns and assessing family needs. FTP works collaboratively with the family, school, and other agencies or professionals that are involved.

Family Training Program employees have backgrounds in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Education and/or other fields pertinent to parent education.

Staff members are provided with training on complex family dynamics (i.e. families impacted by AODA Issues; Mental Health Difficulties; Cognitive Disabilities/Special Needs; Sexual Abuse; Relationship Difficulties/Domestic Violence; Blended Family Issues, etc.) and receive on-going, third party supervision and feedback.
